Howland – Gerry J. Gagnon, 56, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 4, 2021, just two days after the tragic sudden death of his firstborn son, Aaron. He was born December 29, 1964 in Lincoln, the son of Lionel E. and Mariette C. (Roy) Gagnon.

Gerry grew up in Howland, and was a graduate of Penobscot Valley High School, class of 1984. Gerry was an employee at Aubuchon Hardware in Lincoln for 35 years and was the store manager at the time of his death. Gerry was a huge fan of the New England Patriots the Boston Red Sox, and the Montreal Canadiens. He was also an especially loyal fan of “Tom Terrific” and Carlton Fisk. Like his son Aaron, he loved his cats, Elvi and Nollie, and took excellent care of them. Gerry was a dedicated father to his two sons and enjoyed an especially close bond with them both. They were proud to call him their father, best friend, and fondly referred to him as “Big Papa G”, and "Big Papa Stud". He was loved by his family, colleagues, friends, and everyone in the community.

Gerry is survived by his best friend, ex-wife and mother of his children, Tracy Lee Whittier and her husband Lance of Lincoln; beloved son Beau Gagnon of Lincoln; siblings, Josee Proulx and her husband Paul, Sylvain Gagnon of Canada, Yves Gagnon and his wife Gladys, Sylvie Gagnon of West Enfield, Langis Gagnon of Lincoln, Suzanne Gagnon and her significant other Zach Weisleder of Hampden; a very special cousin that was like a brother to him, Kent Tardif of Howland; nieces and nephews Michael, Kim and her husband Louis, Laurianne and her husband Erick, Stephanie, Bronson and his wife Liz, Andrea and her husband John, Victoria, Brittany and her husband Nick, and Racheal; also a very special friend, Ed Comeau and his beloved Aubuchon Hardware family; special extended family members Bobby, Olivia, and Kobe Libby; and numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gerry was predeceased by his beloved firstborn son Aaron William Gagnon, and his brother-in-law, Michael O’Brien.

Friends of Aaron and Gerry are invited to visit with the family 12-1 PM Saturday, March 13 at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where a joint Service of Remembrance will be held at 1 PM. Services will be livestreamed, and messages of condolence expressed, at Gerry’s Book of Memories at A gathering for family and friends will immediately follow Saturday's service at the American Legion Hall in Howland.
