Frederick Joseph Grant Sr., 76, passed away Friday July 6, 2018 at Millinocket Regional Hospital.
He was born January 12, 1942, in Ludlow, the son of David Henry and Pauline Elizabeth (Feeney) Grant Sr.
Frederick grew up in Ludlow and attended local schools. He married Marjorie McLean on January 29, 1962 and the moved to Middletown Connecticut. They later returned to Maine and settled in Medway where he went to work at Great Northern, East Millinocket Operations. Upon the closing of the mill he drove tractor trailer for Arthur York before retiring. Frederick enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his six children: Michael Grant and his wife Kathy of East Millinocket, Martin Grant and his wife Mary of Medway, Mark Grant and his partner Donald of Tulsa, OK, Cheryl Grant and her partner Ivan Johnston, Theresa Federico and her husband Dominic, Ira Grant and his wife Wanda all of Medway, seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He also leaves behind five siblings: Theresa Urban, Morris Grant, Nancy Woods, Martin Grant, David Grant, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Marjorie Grant, a son Frederick J. Grant, a granddaughter Bailey Rose Grant, a sister Connie Beaudoin, and a brother Daniel Grant. The family would like to thank E.I.M., Central Maine Medical Center, and Millinocket Regional Hospital for all of the care provided.
A graveside service will be conducted at 9 AM Wednesday July 11, 2018 at East Millinocket Cemetery with his grandson Derrick Grant officiating. Donation's in Frederick's memory may be made payable to the Katahdin Area Support Group P.O. Box 374 Millinocket, ME 04462.
