Obituary for Frederick N. Bagley Sr.
Millinocket - Fred Bagley, 84 passed away on December 19, 2019. He was born in Albion, Maine on May 18, 1935, the son of Hazen and Eva Bagley.
In 1956, Fred married the love of his life, Rena Roy. It was love at first sight and she knew "she had to have him." Through the years they built a family of six beautiful children, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He loved his family and always put their needs before his own. He will always be remembered as the best Papa ever.
Fred served in the United States Army, after which he made his home in Millinocket. You would always see him out and about in town with a big grin on his face. Whether it was at the school where he was a custodian, at Dead River while he was pumping your gas or at the family store, Bagley’s Market. He was consistently involved in Little League, from coaching his son and many local kids in the 70's to becoming Little League president and up until recently, coaching his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rena Bagley, his daughters, Brenda Bagley and life partner Laurel Morrison, Rhonda and husband Allen Carver, Cheri and husband Dave Beaulieu, Debbie and husband Kenny Cummings, Michelle and husband Scott Kilcollins. Son, Fred Bagley, Jr. Eight grandchildren, Kendra Cummings and partner Justin Majkowski, Jason and Mike Cummings, Nick and Ryan Beaulieu, Kristin and husband Cliff Warren, Ashley and husband Bevan Bonhomme, Brittney Kilcollins and partner Josh Collins. 10 great grandchildren, Taylor Cummings, Riley and Bentley Gardner, Griffin, Gavin and Blair Majkowski, Lacey and Paislee Beaulieu, Belle Bonhomme and Carter Collins. His brother Hazen and wife Eleanor.
Fred was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Winton, Gerald, Cliff and Robert.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at MRH for the compassionate care they provided during this very difficult time.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2020.
