Obituary for Frank G. Leino
Frank G. Leino, 68, passed away peacefully Sunday March 31, 2019 at Millinocket Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born July 26, 1950, in Millinocket, the son of William R. Leino and Barbara A. (Barnes) Leino.
Frank graduated from Stearns High School in 1969 and went on to graduate from Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute with an associate’s degree in Instrumentation/Electrician. He then went to work for Great Northern Paper Company for over 30 years, followed by Power Industry Consultants for twelve years. Frank met Mary Ann in 1985. They married on August 22, 1997. He was an avid sports fan and supported the community sporting events. Frank enjoyed watching and cheering for the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed golfing at the Hillcrest Golf Club in Millinocket, where he scored two hole-in-ones! Frank also enjoyed softball, bowling and was a skilled pool player - as well as a long time Millinocket Elk’s member. Frank had the biggest heart in the world, and was extremely generous. He would do anything, for anyone. When you met Frank as a stranger you left as a friend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Mary Ann (Bernardini) Leino of Millinocket. His four children: Jonathan Leino, Kristi Davis and husband Kevin, John St. Peter, Michele Straub and husband Steven. Along with his three grandchildren: Nicholas, Danielle and Camden. Frank also leaves behind five siblings: Billie Jean Brilliant and husband Dwight, Richard “Rick”, Michael “Mike” and wife Carla, Julie Young and Jeffrey “Jeff” Leino, as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his precious dog “Bella”. In addition to his beloved dog “Teko”, Frank was predeceased by his parents.

Friends may gather at 11 AM Friday April 5, 2019 at Lamson Funeral Home, where a celebration of his life will be held at 1 PM with Rev. Harry Straub officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to the reception at the Millinocket Elks Lodge immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Katahdin Area Support Group in honor of Frank.
