Obituary for Florence E. Audibert (Briggs)

West Enfield - Florence E. (Briggs) Audibert, 91 of West Enfield went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 with her family by her side. Mom was raised in Howland, the daughter of William and Elsie “Hatch” Briggs, and was the last surviving child of eleven born to them. In addition to her parents and siblings, she was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Wilfred Audibert Sr, her son David Ireland, and her daughter Barbara Audibert.

Mama loved her family very much and always wanted to know how everyone was doing. She loved gardening, camping, fishing and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles and was known as the “Queen of Scrabble”. She loved having people drop in at home and made sure you got something to eat. She was an active member of the Howland Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed her role as an AWANA program leader for 25 years.

She is survived by 7 children Debbie Knights, Danny Ireland and Terry Audibert of Lincoln, Dianne Williams and Harold Audibert of Enfield, Wilfred Audibert, Jr. of Lagrange and Theresa Higgins of Bangor, 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a very special friend Myrtle Reed.

Graveside services will be held 1:30 PM on Saturday, June 11 at the West Enfield Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to support the Howland Veterans Memorial facility at Old Tannery Park, Town of Howland, P.O. Box 386, Howland, ME 04448.
