Obituary for Everett Joseph McLaughlin Jr.

Lincoln – Everett Joseph McLaughlin, Jr., 67, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln. He was born August 4, 1954 in Lincoln, the son of Everett and Dorothea (Moore) McLaughlin, Sr.

Everett grew up in Howland and was a graduate of Penobscot Valley High School, class of 1974. He worked at the Great Northern Paper Company in East Millinocket from 1975 until the mill’s closure. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in Lincoln and his summers at his camp on Egg Pond where he met many lifelong friends. He spent this past summer at his permanent camper site at Homeplace Recreational Park with his family in Ararat, North Carolina where he met many lovely people. Everett will be remembered as a loving, hardworking, comedic, and dedicated husband, father, papa, brother, and friend.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carolee (Woodard) McLaughlin; daughter, Jaimie Thibodeau and her husband Christopher; son Jerod McLaughlin; two granddaughters, McKayla Brooke and Kaylyn Raeann Thibodeau; mother in law Ginger Woodard; five sisters, seven brothers in law, and three sisters in law – Marilyn Belanger and husband Kenneth, Carolyn Valcourt, Susan McLaughlin, Pamela McLaughlin, Denise Jones and husband Les, Mary Duplisea and husband Patrick, John Ciarrochi, Lisa Markie and husband Scott, Donny Woodard and wife Amanda, and Michael Woodard; three fur babies, Lucky, Maizee, and Oscar; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, Everett was predeceased by a brother, Lance Cpl. James Chase, father-in-law and mother-in-law Harold and Eileen (Coffin) Woodard, and a brother-in-law, Jean Claude Valcourt.

The family would like to extend a thanks to all for the expressions of love and kindness shown over the recent days. A special thank you as well to the members of Maranatha Riverside Church for catering the Celebration of Life Service.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 10-11 AM Saturday, December 11 at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln where funeral services will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Kevin Hatch officiating. Interment will be at the Lincoln Cemetery, Park Street Side.
