Obituary for Eunice V. Lindsay

Lincoln- Eunice V. Lindsay, 102 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 6, 2021. She
passed away peacefully, in her own home, with loved ones by her side. She was born on September 29, 1919 in Prentiss, the daughter of Jesse and Dora (Chubbuck) Merrill, Sr.

Eunice grew up in Prentiss and graduated in 1936 in Springfield. She was married on March 27, 1937 to Bert Ward Lindsay and lived in Carroll Plantation until 1955 when the family moved to Lincoln. She worked as a grocery clerk at Northend Market for over 20 years until she retired in 1980 and became a full-time babysitter for her 3 “special boys” Chad Shorey, Will Bennett and Matt Dubay. She loved gardening, knitting, and crocheting. She was known for growing beautiful flowers and as long as she was able, maintained her own yard, even mowing her own lawn until the age of 91. She was a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church on Fleming Street in Lincoln and loved her church family.

Eunice is survived by a son, Roger Lindsay; a daughter Sandra Nash and her husband Jeff; a daughter in law Velma Lindsay; seven grandchildren, Arlene Matthews, Stephen Lindsay and wife Michelle, Tonya Drouin, Susan Jipson and husband Doug, Rick Lindsay and wife Stephanie, Andrew Nash and Sarah, Evan Nash and Whitney; twelve great grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren; a sister Shirley Cottrell, sister in law Lucinda Merrill and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Eunice is predeceased by her husband; a son, Lloyd Lindsay; six siblings, Elnora Merrill, Haley Merrill, Clinton Merrill, Leta Downs, Jesse Merrill, Jr and Lois Emerson; and several other family members.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 1:00PM at the Lindsay Cemetery in Carroll Plantation. Gifts in memory of Eunice may be sent to Bible Baptist Church, PO Box 13 Fleming Street, Lincoln, ME. 04457. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
