Obituary for Emily Edith Pound (Marston)

Millinocket - Emily Edith (Marston) Pound, 94, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Katahdin Health Care. She was born May 28, 1924 in Millinocket, the daughter of Chester and Margaret (Farquar) Marston. Emily is survived by her five boys, Brent Pound and his wife Pam of Greenville ME, Kim Pound and his wife Stacia of Payson AZ, Peter McCafferty of Millinocket, Steve Pound and his wife Elisa of Millinocket and Woody McCafferty of Millinocket, also her ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Emily was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ozzie Pound, her parents, brother; Roland Marston and two sisters; Constance Tweedie and Shirley Walls, and one infant grandson; Peter Wayne McCafferty, Jr. Emily was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Millinocket. She was the youngest sibling graduating from Stearns H.S. in 1942. She worked at the mill office of G.N.P. for a number of years. In 1947 she was married to Alfred McCafferty who was killed in a plane crash in 1956. She was a wonderful wife and mother of five boys. Emily enjoyed life to the fullest. The times at camp, on the water at Millinocket Lake, hunting, fishing, and X-C skiing. The family wishes to thank the very caring staff of Katahdin Health Care. Friends are invited to visit with the family 12-1 P.M. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Millinocket, 247 Penobscot Avenue, where funeral services will be held 1 P.M. with the Rev. Tim Bossie, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will be in Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts may be made in Emily’s memory to the Millinocket Baptist Church, P.O. Box 898, Millinocket ME 04462. A gathering of fellowship and lunch will be held after the service. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
