Obituary for Elwood E. Worster Sr.

Carmel – Elwood E. Worster, 93, died Thursday, November 19, 2020 at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 29, 1927 in Carroll Plantation, the son of Joseph M. and Luddie M. (Worster) Worster.

Elwood grew up in Carroll, and was a World War II veteran of World War II. He was an avid bowler, and loved country music. Elwood was blessed with the dancing gene, and loved dancing, even teaching his nurses how to waltz while he was in the hospital. He was gregarious and outgoing, and people were drawn to him naturally. Elwood was a very loving and caring father, and will be missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by six children, Loretta Wilcox, Elwood Worster, Jr. and his wife Erin, Douglas Worster, Deborah Lannigan and her husband Lester, Ernest Worster and his wife Rita, and Cheryl Foss; a brother, Donald Worster and his wife Roycene; two sisters, Dorothy Worster and Violet Worster; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elwood was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Glenace (Smith) Worster, five brothers, Donald (1921), Arnold, Harold, Sterling, and Elden; three sisters, Pauline Worster, Arlene Worster, and Donna Washburn; and a grandson, Jonathan Worster.

Graveside services, with military honors, will be held 1 PM Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the Butterfield Cemetery in Prentiss.
