Obituary for Elizabeth R. Tracy (McCausland)

Howland – Elizabeth R. “Betty” (McCausland) Tracy, 102, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at a Howland health care facility. She was born January 11, 1918 in Portage, the daughter of Arthur and Laura (Hood) McCausland.

Elizabeth loved attending church at the Enfield Church of God. She was gifted at playing the organ, as well as the accordion, and loved to sing. Elizabeth enjoyed going for rides, especially if it involved a stop at McDonalds! For many years she worked at Cummings Health Care as a CNA, caring for the residents there.

She is survived by a son, Fred D. Thompson, Jr., and his wife Connie of Howland; three step children, Linwood Tracy, Jr., Gerald Tracy, and Geraldine Mumm; twelve grandchildren, Joey Veino, Connie Cyr, Patty Kladder and her husband Matt, Shirley Whitten and her husband Billy, Donnie Cox and his wife Gayla, Peggy Dean and her significant other Buzzy, Linda Perkins and her husband Rodney, Fred Thompson, III and his wife Cathy, Troy Thompson, Brent Thompson and his wife Pegeen, Brenda Worster and her husband Kevin, and Laurie Ross and her husband Darrell; step grandchild, Roland Frenette and Dennis Mumm; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; siblings Harry McCausland, Maxine McCausland, Linda Moran, and Gloria Goodwin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Linwood Tracy, Sr; five children, Laura Thompson, Mary Thompson, Thelma Carey, Shirley Cox, and Arthur Thompson; two grandchildren, Jeffery Veino and Galen Tracy; and four brothers Archie McCausland, William McCausland, Robert McCausland, and David McCausland.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Cummings Health Care for the excellent care provided to Elizabeth and the many courtesies extended to the family.

Graveside services will be held in the springtime at the Howland Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
