Edward Allen Barnaby passed away on February 20, 2022 at the age of 72. He was born December 7, 1949 in Stoneham, MA and graduated from Bourne High School in 1968. Following graduation, he served in the United States Airforce and will be interred at the Augusta Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery as a Vietnam Veteran.
Edward, known by many as “Crazy Ed,” followed his dream of music. He inspired many local musicians, entertained for local events and school dances, performed along the entire eastern seaboard from Maine to Florida, and released a record in 1980, I’ve Been Crying and later a CD, The Picture of Dreams. Ed filled his hours with family, friends, and music. His music lives on to comfort and bring joy to his loved ones ~ “Then we’ll smile and say, it will be a better day, the sun will shine its rays on each and everyone today.”
He is survived by cherished friend, Anne Gonsalves, his four beloved daughters: Theresa Marks, Amy Hopkins, Bethany Gage, and Shannon LeMieux, his 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his treasured siblings Daniel (Dino), Dennis, Donald, John (Stacy), Jeffery Barnaby, and Victoria Furness. He is predeceased by his parents, Mr. Frank D. and Theresa R (Feola) Barnaby, his sisters and brother, Theresa (Terry) Chisholm, Diane Gary, Deborah Nugent and Gary Barnaby.
A celebration of life will take place at St. Margaret’s Church, 141 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, 02532 on March 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives.
