Obituary for Dwight Gary Cassio

Howland--Dwight Gary Cassio, 78 died in his sleep February 26, 2022 in Corinth. He was born on January 29, 1944 in West Enfield, the son of Charles and Janet Cassio.
Dwight did not finish school, instead he went straight into the woods. A short time later he landed a job with the Bangor Hydro. He never missed a day for 34 years.
He married a very loving young lady, Diane P. Brown. They shared 52 years together until Diane's passing in June of 2015. He mourned her daily until his death.
Dwight and Diane were members of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Howland where they married on September 26, 1964.
Dwight Loved to hunt and fish. He lived life to the fullest. He Loved to make people laugh, and he was a vicious prankster. Once, he put a live Partridge in his dinner pail for Mom to find. He did things like this to all his friends, only for fun and laughs. In addition to his own family Dwight was very close with his mother and father especially his mother, Janet, as well as his siblings. He was the youngest of 6 - the baby of the family.
Anyone that ever knew him has a story to tell. His sense of humor was endearing and will fondly be remembered by many. Especially by his childhood friend who visited him often until the end -Mike McGinn.
Dwight is survived by three sons, Scott and his wife Rhonda of Howland; Darin and his wife Nicole of Dedham; Shane and his wife Jennifer of Waterboro.
Predeceased by a brother, Frankie Dwight leaves four siblings, Allen and his wife Donna of Michigan, Virginia Ancho of North Carolina, Jackie Santos of Orono, and Michael also from North Carolina.
Dwight leaves eight grandchildren, Mikell and her husband Travis of Howland. Macey, Madison, and Anson of Dedham. Lacey and Jason of Waterboro. Jessie and Cassie of Thurmond Md. Greatgrandchildren; Scotty, and McKienzy, of Howland. Caleb, Caden and Harlow of Thurmond Maryland.
Services for Dwight will be held at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Howland at 11:00 am on June 18 2022. Following the mass there will be a graveside ceremony at St. Mathews Cemetery in West Enfield.
