Condolence: Nancy: We were so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. As my second cousin (from the Trafton/Porter side) we got to see each other each year when we visited family in Sherman until our great aunts passed. He is now at peace and rest. Our deepest sympathy to you and to Debbie, Moe and Jason and their families as well. My Maine family connection has dwindled but the good times we all shared on our yearly visits to Sherman (as I was growing up and later as a single adult visiting) will be remembered forever. RIP Doug.

Condolence: So sad to hear of the passing of Doug. I never got the chance to know him, but my husband shoveled his roof a few times during the past couple of winters. Come to find out, Doug knew my father, David Emery, very well. He had a custom made fly rod my dad made him years back. His kindness and generosity made me have faith that there are still good people out there. My husband came home one day, with the fly rod in his hand. Once Doug knew I was still taking it hard from losing my dad, he did not hesitate to give me something so special. I will never forget that day. Thinking of his family during this most difficult time. Please know he made me one of the happiest girls in the world by that kind gesture!

Condolence From: Veteran of Foreign Wars of The United States
Condolence: One by one, as the years roll on, we are called upon to fulfill these sad duties of respect to our departed comrade. The present, full of the cares that beset all nations whether engaged in war or peace, fades away as we look back on the day this comrade left his home to defend his country. Imbued by a spirit of devotion and inspired by an undying love of his native land, he gladly went forth and joined with comrades both young and old to preserve our heritage of freedom

Condolence: I am saddened to hear of Doug's passing. Doug worked at Aroostook Avenue School when I taught there. It was like working with family and Doug was a part of it. He would stop by my class to talk about school happenings. We had good visits and much laughter. Doug was a kind, gentle soul who will be missed by many. My condolences to family and friends.
