Obituary for Donna M. McLaughlin (Hooper)

Millinocket – Donna Mae (Hooper) McLaughlin, 78, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 30, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born November 5, 1940 in Millinocket, the daughter of Donald W. Hooper and Beatrice G. (Hartley) McLain.
Donna grew up in Millinocket, and was a graduate of Stearns High School, class of 1960. She was a faithful member of the Living Hope Church of the Nazarene in East Millinocket. Donna loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loyal supporter of her children’s activities in school and sports when they were younger, and enjoyed her grandchildren’s activities later. Donna will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by those who loved her.
She is survived by four children, Earl McLaughlin, Jr. and his wife Lisa, Lisa Lacombe and her husband Charles, Kevin McLaughlin and his wife Lisa, and Amy McLaughlin and her significant other, Jay Grant; six grandchildren, Chad, Cortney, Charles, Catherine, Dylan, and Amanda; seven great grandchildren, Jacob, Alisa, Allison, Nathan, Natalie, Bryson, and Sophia; two sisters, Evelyn Pelkey and her husband David, Cindy Perry and her husband Jim; two brothers, Bugsy McLain and his wife Marie, and Richard McLain and his wife Becky; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donna will also be missed by two close friends, Monica Gee and Nellie DeWitt. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her step father, Ellery McLain, step mother, Ruth Hooper, brothers Freddy and Harold McLain, and a sister Rosemary Mott.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 10 – 11 AM Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Living Hope Church of the Nazarene, Palm Street, East Millinocket, where funeral services will be held 11 AM with the Rev. Allen Hamlin, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Donna may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group. P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462.
