Obituary for Donald L. Webb

Winn – Donald L. Webb, 81, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at a Bangor hospital. He was born August 28, 1937 in Gorham, the son of Arnold L. and Edith M. (Bennett) Webb.

Donald grew up in Springfield, and was a graduate of Lee Academy. He was a truck driver, and worked for many area pulpwood operators and mills until his retirement. Donald enjoyed playing the guitar, and looked forward to his Wednesday night “jam sessions” at the KC Hall in Lincoln. He was honest and loyal, and will be remembered as a great family man. Donald enjoyed nature, and spent a great deal of time hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. He was a member of Pine Tree Lodge #172, A.F. & A.M. in Mattawamkeag, where he was a Past Master, as well as the Anah Shrine. Quick with his wit, he could often bring a smile to a conversation or good naturedly agitate someone he loved. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Donald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn J. (Chesley) Webb of Winn; two children, Laurie Vespignani and her husband Dante of Windham, and Clifton Webb and his wife Jenn of Bangor; Grandson Tyler Black, granddaughter Desiree Mclasky; great granddaughter Autumn; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at the Winn Cemetery later in the spring. Gifts in memory of Donald may be sent to Sarah’s House, 346 Main Road, Holden, ME 04429. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
