Obituary for Donald C. Morrison

Millinocket – Donald C. Morrison, Sr. 89, entered the Kingdom of God to be united with his Heavenly Father and beloved wife, Sara. He passed away peacefully on Monday February 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Millinocket Regional Hospital in Millinocket. Donald was born June 28, 1934, to Donald and Ann (Cameron) Morrison.

Don was raised in Millinocket and graduated from Stearns High School on June 13, 1951. He was an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed playing basketball and football in his high school years. In his later years his joy of sports included going to his grandchildren’s sporting events, particularly following his only grandson’s hockey and football games. He was a master of witty sarcastic humor. A glorious pain in the neck to a select few “sons-in-law”.

He married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Sara F. Ouellet, on July 27, 1951, in Millinocket and they were happily married for 62 years until her passing on January 28, 2014. He was the Patriarch of the family. A steadying influence to his loving wife, four daughters, son and grandchildren. His enduring legacy is one of unconditional love, guidance, and wisdom. He was able to pass down many of his talents and skills to his children and grandchildren. Don built his first home when he was in his early twenties because his wife gave him the confidence telling him “Of course you can build it, you’re a carpenter’s helper” and he did. He went on to build a second home and their paradise on earth, their family camp on Ambajejus Lake. Don was a devoted member of Christ the Devine Mercy Parish and attended St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sara; parents, Donald and Ann Morrison; great-grandson, Ethan Grant; brother-in-law, Harry Allen; and sister-in-law, Betty Morrison.

Don leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his five children and their spouses, Deborah & Arnold Boynton, Rhonda & Galen Illingworth, Susan & Ronald Preo, Donald & Mary Morrison, and Karen & Ricky Boucher; 10 grandchildren & spouses, Nicole, Sara, Amber & Shannon, Micah & Shelley, Audra & Daniel, Alysha & Kenny, Amanda & Freddie, Katie, Deanna & Seth, and Crystal; 20 great grandchildren and spouse, Cameron & Maria, Cullen, Reannah, Carter, Renee, Sophie, Nathan, Benjamin, Emily, Kaleb, Leah, Nicholas, Trevor, Jaxon, Autumn, Annika, Ariella, Kalia, Lilliana and Nora; one great-great grandson, Azaiya; brothers & wife, Daniel & Phillipa Morrison, and David Morrison; sister, Daphine Allen; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family of Donald Morrison would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to Doctor Dunston and the amazing staff at Millinocket Regional Hospital for the exceptional care given to our loved one.
