Obituary for Diane C. Sargent (Valade)

Diane C Valade Sargent, Age 55, of Millinocket Maine, lost her long valiant fight with cancer on August 3, 2020 at 11:05am. Diane was an amazing woman with an enormous heart. She was loving, caring, and thoughtful and gave all that she had to her friends and loved ones and was cherished by all who knew her. She loved life and all it had to offer and will be deeply missed.
Diane is predeceased by her loving parents; Omar Valade of Putnam CT, and Pauline Valade of Millinocket Maine. She also is predeceased by her beloved cat Pepper who was her companion for many years.
Diane leaves behind a son, Robert David Riendeau Jr, of Howland whom she loved very much. She also leaves behind her granddaughter Alexia Leigh Riendeau, of Argyle Maine. Alexia was the "sunshine of her life" and "reason for fighting so long and hard." She was very close with lexi and very proud of the young woman she had become. Lexi loves her grammie dearly and will always cherish the ten years of memories that they share.
Diane also leaves behind her Aunt "Soci", Andrea Sherman of Danielson CT, Who has always been more of a mother to her than an aunt whom she adored wholeheartedly. She loved and cared for her Soci deeply.
She also leaves behind many friends who cared for her beyond measure. Including, but not limited to; Sharon Goodwin of Winn Maine who took her into her home and cared for her like family in her time of need. Sharon we thank you. Also Tara Agosta who was always available to help Diane over the last 7 years. She drove her to appointments, testing, surgeries, and even cared for her in her home for awhile when it was nearing the end. Tara was always there for her and Diane loved her like a daughter. Also left behind to mourn her is her Ex Daughter In Law, Cassie Blanchard of Argyle Maine who loved and was loved by Diane greatly. They bonded over Alexia over the years and became much more than friends. Diane also left behind her dear friends; Ed and Wendy Sargent of CT, Marcella Passay of FL and Peter Jamison of Millinocket, a dear family friend. And last but far from the least, Dianes companion and friend. Her cat shadow. She will miss her greatly.
We the family would like to say thank you to Beacon Hospice, for guiding us through this tragedy, we couldn't have done this without your help. We would like to thank "In Home Care" for assisting Diane until she left her apartment and all of the other people and/or companies that provided her care throughout the years of her illnesses.
Diane has requested that in Lieu of flowers please send any donations directly to the American Cancer Society in her name. There will be a small grave side service in Putnam CT where she will be laid to rest with her dear father. Anyone and everyone is welcome. Please contact Cassie Blanchard for more details. She wanted us to leave you with her own farewell message. "Cancer Sucks"
