Millinocket – Dennis S. Rush, 64, died Sunday, November 18, 2018 at a Millinocket hospital. He was born October 15, 1954 in Millinocket, the son of Frank W. (“Lucky”) and Alice L. (Jandreau) Rush, Jr.
Dennis grew up in Millinocket, and was a graduate of Stearns High School, 1973. He worked as a crane operator for the Great Northern Paper Company. Dennis was a faithful communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, and was a 4th Degree Knight with St. Martin of Tours Council #680, Knights of Columbus. Dennis was a talented guitar player and vocalist, and spent many happy times playing and singing with his friends, and also teaching his grandchildren to play.
He is survived by his wife, Georgette (Ashbaugh) Rush; daughter, Shannon Ferran and her husband Andy of Manchester; two grandchildren, Alice and Liam; three sisters, Nancy Jones and her husband John, Nola Welch and her husband Tim, and Karen Ayotte and her husband Allan; and many step children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Dennis was predeceased by his parents.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 10-11 A.M. Saturday, November 24 at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby Street, Millinocket, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A.M. with the Rev. Bruce Siket, pastor, presider. Interment will be in the springtime at Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Dennis may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, or to the Knights of Columbus, 27 Highland Avenue, Millinocket, ME 04462. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
