Obituary for Dennis Leonard Sr.
Dennis Leonard Sr, 68, died unexpectedly January 9, 2019, at the VA hospital in Gainesville, FL.
He was born April 10, 1950, in Lincoln, the son of Francis V. and Odella (Shorette) Leonard.
Dennis proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He returned home, and worked for over 30 years at the Lincoln Mill, until his retirement. Dennis was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, Renate (Brooks) Leonard; his sons, Dennis Jr. and Mark; daughters, Melady (Leonard) Love, Rebecca Leonard, Christie (Leonard) Mabe and her husband Allen, from his first wife, Shannon Meister; Stepson Darrell Ireland and his wife April; five grandchildren, Delany, ChaiNa, Akai, Patience, and Logan, Two sisters Patricia (Leonard) Shorey, and Frances Marie Leonard. Brothers Vaughn, Dave, Bill, and Gerald, and many nieces and nephews.
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Richard Malo at 10 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2019, at St Leo the Great Catholic Church 18 River Road, Howland 04448. Interment will be at St Matthew Cemetery, Enfield, after which a luncheon will be served in the St. Leo’s downstairs room
