Obituary for David F. Pace

Springfield, Maine - David F. Pace, 82, “Pop Pop”, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2020 at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln, ME.

Dave was born on November 21, 1937 in Somerset, NJ to the late Howard & Ruth Pace. Dave grew up in Mansfield Twp., NJ graduating from Hackettstown High School in 1957. He was a member of the HS Tiger’s football team.

Dave had a passion for racing and was a stock car driver from the early 1950’s to the early 1980’s. A truck driver until his retirement in 2002. He was of the Methodist faith. A past member of the Tri-County Fire Department.

His love of Maine was shared by his wife Pat and they moved to Springfield, ME in 1977. A Special thank you to his closest friends who have been more like family; Chris Ham (Sandy), Jimmy Rideout.

He was an avid racing sports fan and loved watching his New England Patriots play. He enjoyed ice fishing and hunting. Dave loved spending time with friends and family. He was always the life of the party and will be greatly missed. Dave is survived by his loving wife Patricia; his daughters, Kathleen Perry (Richard), Bonnie Thompson (Brett), Robin Soule (Rodney); his sons, Robert Hager and David Pace, Jr. (Lisa); a sister, Ruth Piancone; 12 Grandchildren; 7 Great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog Dixie.

Dave was preceded in death by a son, Gary Hager; a brother, Ralph Pace, close friends Jason Ham (Silvia), Less & Gene Lattig.

Services will be private for the immediate Family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dave’s name to the Ronald McDonald House.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln, Maine.
