Obituary for Darrell G. Lee

Danforth – Darrell G. Lee, 81, died Sunday, December 11, 2022, at a Bangor hospital surrounded by his family. He was born April 24, 1941, in Calais, the son of Roy D. and Lexie F. (Muncey) Lee. On March 2, 1968, Darrell married the love of his life, Sheryl, and together they had three children.

He is survived by his 3 children: Roy and his wife, Kimberly, April and her husband, Melvin and Jessica and her partner Travis; grandchildren Chelsea and DJ, Jason and Abigail, Seth and Mahkayla, Devan and Samantha, Dakota and Aiden; great-grandchildren Maci, McKenzie, Grady, Zoey and Axton. He is also survived by his siblings, Lola Spinney, Roy Lee and Audrey Hall, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He tragically lost his wife, Sheryl in 1998 and is also predeceased by his parents and siblings, Brydon, Violet, Delmont, Larry, Eli, Chet, Gladys, Una, Leone.

Darrell served in the US Army. He worked his entire life as a woodsman until his retirement in 2019 at the age of 77. He worked for Colin Bartlett for much of his career, who was not only his employer but a great friend.

He was a Red Sox fan and enjoyed hunting and horseshoes in his younger years. He was a hard worker and liked to stay busy, oftentimes putting around the house. He was very likable and everyone will remember him for his sense of humor.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 1-2 PM Saturday, December 17 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth.
