Lincoln - Daniel Dyer LaGasse, 54, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, May 8th, 2023. Danny was a gently giant with a heart of gold who will truly be missed by many. Big Dan loved the outdoors where no matter what time of year you could find him fishing. He always had a fishing pole with him and if he saw water he’d say, “Fish it!” He was pleased to spend one of his last weekend’s fishing with his wife and granddaughter at his favorite spot at Crystal. Danny had a heart for animals especially his beloved companion Diego. Danny was a member of Old Town High School’s Class of 1988. He was a proud Old Town Indian and OTHS is where he fell in love with football. Danny was a friend to many especially his fishing buddies Big Steve, Didda and Anthony. Danny was a family man and would have and did do absolutely anything for his family. Danny is predeceased by his grandparents Leonard and Marion LaGasse, his father in-law Bobby Tex Heavin as well as several aunts and uncles. Danny is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Denise Heavin LaGasse. His two children who he would have moved mountains for, his son, Dalton Daniel LaGasse and his fiancé Jasmine Drew. His daughter Desirae and her husband Steven Little. His two grandchildren Alayna and Junior Little who were the light of his life. His mother in-law that was just like a mother to him, Dianne Heavin. Also, his two brothers Rodney Crouse and Jeremy Parker and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
