Dana W.  Brown
Millinocket – Dana W. Brown, 95, died Friday, July 27, 2018 at his home. He was born September 13, 1922 in Limestone, the son of E. Hartley and Madeline May (Ballard) Brown.
He is survived by his one child, Charles D. Brown of East Millinocket; grandsons, Kyle J. Brown of Corinth, and Trent S. Brown of Bangor; and a great granddaughter, Alissa Brown.
Dana was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier.
Anyone who knew him knew his passion was talking about the log drives of many years past and his Indian artifacts he had collected over the years.
He was a lifelong member of the local Fin & Feather Club, of which he was instrumental in the forming of the club in the early years. He loved to fly fish the local ponds of the area and he was a deer hunter.
Dana was predeceased by his wife Phyllis Jane Brown, and his parents.
At Dana’s request, private services will be held at the Millinocket Cemetery at a later time. Gifts in memory of Dana may be sent to the Millinocket Historical Society, P.O. Box 11, Millinocket, ME 04462.
