Obituary for Clarice A. Stanley (Giles)

Howland – Clarice A. Stanley, 85, peacefully joined her husband, Avon, in heaven on Friday, January 22, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born April 27, 1935 in Howland, the daughter of Oakley and Minnie (York) Giles.

Clarice’s life was her family. She loved every member of her family, and loved spending time with them, and following all of their activities. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, spending time at her beloved camp on Cold Stream Pond, where she enjoyed reading. In recent years, going to the store to get groceries became a chance for her to get out and socialize and was a favorite event of hers.

Clarice is survived by eight children, Greg Stanley and his wife Susanne, Keith Stanley and his wife Donna, Barbara Stanley, Brenda Hanson and her husband Rodney, Blandine Dvilinsky and her husband Robert, Avon Stanley, Jr. and his wife Melanie, Karen Paul and her husband Donald, and Jessica Dugans and her husband Chip; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a sister, Lila Lindquist; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband of 69 years, Avon V. Stanley, Clarice was predeceased by a son, Michael Stanley, as well as Michael’s wife, Bonnie, her sisters, Ramona Neal, Elizabeth Demont, Sandra Lindquist, and Mary Caron.

Graveside services will be held in the springtime at the Howland Cemetery, beside Avon. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
