Obituary for Carroll D. King

West Enfield – Carroll D. King passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021. He was born May 26, 1927 in Prentiss, the son of Clayton and Thelma King.

He attended schools in West Enfield and Howland. Carroll was drafted into the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Milo and the Anah Shrine. After his time in the Army, Carroll and his brother Phillip started King Brothers Trucking. He spent several winters in Florida and summers at their camp at Cold Stream Pond.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Edith (Hamilton) King; a brother, Wayne King and his wife Gail of Lincoln; a sister, Cynthia Whalen and her husband Michael of West Enfield; nephews Gary Hamilton and his wife Kathy of Millinocket, Tim King and his wife Andrea of Florida; Gary King of Howland, Dale Frederick and his wife Pam King of West Enfield; and David King and his wife Stephanie of Las Vegas, Nevada; nieces Allyson Whalen and her husband Kenny of Kinston, Washington, Heidi Aliski and her husband David of Wakefield, Massachusetts, Susan Theriault and her husband Terry of Edinburgh, Jill Cyr and her husband Robert of Howland, and Joanne Saucier and her husband Tommy of Howland; and close friends Duane Durost, Sharon Saucier and family, Jerry and Linda Harris and family, and many other dear friends. In addition to his parents, Carroll was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Gulesian in 2013, brothers Philip and his wife Mallie, Leeman and his wife Ruby, and Dale, and his mother-in-law, Dot Hamilton.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kevin Olsen and special care of the Hospice of Community Health and Counseling.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Graveside services will be held in the spring at the West Enfield Cemetery.
