LINCOLN– With profound sadness we announce the passing of Carlene G. Cloukey, beloveddaughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin and friend to all the lives shetouched.  She left us peacefully at herbrother’s home in Mattamiscontis, ME on July 8, 2020.  She was 60. Bornon March 8, 1960 in Lincoln, ME to Franklin “Carl” and Ederle Cloukey, Carlenegrew up in West Enfield, ME, attended area schools and graduated from PenobscotValley High School, Howland, ME, Class of 1978. She held various jobs early inher career but for the past 20 years, worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital inBangor, ME where she was a Transporter/C.N.A. Carlene was very dedicated to her job and always greeted every personwith a bright smile on her face.  Afterleaving Northern Light EMMC to go home, her co-workers at St. Joe’s lined thestreet in front of the hospital where she worked with signs, balloons andshouts of love to thank her for her many years of service and to show theirlove and support.  What an incredibletestament of her work life. She was so deeply touched.   Carlenewas loved by so many and had an energy that with just one encounter, you wouldremember her for life.   She willcontinue to stay with us through memories and the laughs we shared.  We will remember her for being one of thebest cooks around - Grammie Pearl’s Spaghetti Sauce and Raspberry Pie were hersignature dishes.  Carlene loved totravel with her friends and family, whether it be Cancun, Mexico, Nova Scotiaor the beautiful State of Maine. A music lover, fun times were had attendingmany concerts over the years with her sister Jill.  Her girlfriends from St. Joe’s will remember Carlenefor her annual Christmas party.  Eventhough her apartment was small, she would squeeze just as many friends in asshe could and would cook for days wanting to treat those who attended.  Carlene loved spending time with her Mom andPete and her extended family, The Lemay’s, on Cold Stream Pond, whether it betaking a boat ride or helping around the house. She was always so generous with her time and would always be there to helpanyone, whenever anything was needed.  Carlene’sgreatest love was her daughter Jess and grandchildren, “Hailey Marie” and “Mr.Michael.”  She loved spending time withthem – cooking together, doing their annual school shopping trip to Freeport, attending Hailey’s dance recitals and sleepovers.  Her family, to whom she gave love, supportand guidance to, was the single most important thing to her.  We all have been blessed to have known andloved Carlene. Carlenewas predeceased by her father, Franklin “Carl” Cloukey.  She is survived by her mother Ederle Lemay& husband Pete of Lincoln; daughter Jessica Simon; grandchildren HaileySimon & Michael Grant of Bangor; brother Tim Cloukey & wife Patty of Mattamiscontis;sister Jill Smith & husband Eric of Howland; nephews and wives, TJ &Tricia Cloukey of Nova Scotia; Travis & Alicia Cloukey and family ofLincoln; Justin & Jessica Cloukey and family of Lincoln and Kevin & CatLevesque of Brewer.  Niece andGoddaughter Krystal Tracy & husband TJ of Glenburn and family.
