Obituary for Carl Harold MacDonald II

Lincoln–Carl Harold MacDonald II, 58, passed away November 18 th , 2022 after a year and half
battle with AML Leukemia, in Surprise Arizona. He was born in Lincoln, the son of Carl
Harold MacDonald and Arras Anne (Gardiner) Moffat. Carl graduated from Lee Academy,
class of 1982. Following graduation, he attended Southern Maine Vocational Technical
Institute, and then went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from
the University of Maine at Orono in Spring 1995. Carl was a self-employed Carpenter and a
stay-at-home Dad for many years while his children were young. He was known to children as
jovial and a great reciter of Dr Seuss, to his friends as a humorous Samuel Adams and cannabis
connoisseur, and to his family as the man that woke with a smile, could fix anything, cooked
like a master chef, and did not tolerate anyone late to the dinner table.
Carl was married to Susan (Mason) MacDonald from Mattawamkeag. They celebrated 39 years
together in November and were married for 32 years in June. Carl lived his life to the fullest on
his own terms and his own way! He was a trivia buff and a great conversationalist. He had a
talent for telling great stories and making everyone around him laugh. He enjoyed hunting,
fishing, carpentry and cribbage; most of all he enjoyed being at camp with family.
