Obituary for Burns W. Elkins Jr.
Millinocket – Burns W. Elkins, Jr., 92, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at a Millinocket hospital. He was born August 28, 1930, in Millinocket, the son of Burns and Bessie (Thompkins) Elkins.
He is survived by four children, Mike Elkins and wife Jane, Scott Elkins and wife Elizabeth, Brent Elkins and wife Gail, and Wanda Gardner and husband Tom; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Burns will also be missed by his extended family at Stearns Assisted Living in Millinocket. In addition to his parents, Burns was predeceased by his wife, Juanita (McLaughlin) Elkins, brothers Robert, Dean, Doug, and Lawrence Elkins; a sister Pauline Hanson; and a granddaughter, Lisa Gardner.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held in the springtime at Grindstone Road Cemetery in Medway. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket. Messages of condolence may be expressed at Burns’ Book of Memories at www.lamsonfh.com
