Obituary for Brenda Jo Clark (York)

Mattawamkeag -Brenda Jo York Clark, 73, ascended with the Lord April 13, 2022, at Penobscot Valley Hospital. Born on April 8, 1949, in Millinocket to Fred & Gwendolyn York, Brenda began a joyful life of nature, family, and community. She survived childhood polio, cancer, heart disease, and diabetes as an adult. She battled all of these afflictions fiercely throughout her life until finally succumbing to complications from lung failure. After graduating from Stearns High, she fell in love with Daniel Clark, Sr. They married and had two sons of whom they were extremely proud, Daniel Clark Jr, and Kevin Clark. After 40 years of marriage Daniel Sr. passed of a heart attack. Brenda immersed herself in her computer repair career and life in the church community at the local Baptist church. She taught Sunday School and was very active in the Mattawamkeag Tuesday Club and other various community organizations. Callers would most often catch her baking, cooking, or creating some fabulous item for others. Giving was at the core of Brenda's soul. About five years ago, she found love again in Gene Cramer. She and Gene enjoyed a life of service, hunting, and fishing together. The Clark family will be forever grateful for Gene's attentiveness and love these past few years. Brenda will be sorely missed by anyone who knew her. The memory of her faith, kindness, and sense of humor will sustain those she left behind. Brenda is survived by her sons, Daniel Jr and wife, Sally of Hudson; Kevin and wife, Lisa of Greenbush; four grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, Cameron, and Madison; one great-grandson, Mason; two brothers, Paul York and wife, Stacy of Virginia; John York and wife, Laurie of Dolby; one sister, Christine Burrill and husband Rob of Springfield; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to attend a service of remembrance at the Mattawamkeag Baptist Church on Saturday, April 23, at 2:00pm, followed by a luncheon. Gifts in memory of Brenda may be made either to the Mattawamkeag Baptist Church or your local humane society. Condolences may be expressed at www.lamsonfh.com.
