Obituary for Bonnie Larkin Lovett
Lincoln – Bonnie Larkin Lovett, 80, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at a Lincoln hospital. She was born March 27, 1938 in Howland, the daughter of James Kenneth and May York Larkin.
Bonnie grew up in Howland, and was a graduate of Howland High School, class of 1956, and was a proud attendee of Girls State. Bonnie retired as librarian from Penobscot Valley High School and also at Enfield Station School. She was an avid follower of sports and arts, both professional and grandchildren’s activities. Family was most important to Bonnie, especially her grandchildren, who will remember her as a proud and nurturing grandmother who was never lacking in support, advice, or opinions. She was a firm believer in appreciating natural beauty, and always encouraged her grandchildren to pause and look at the night sky and the moon. Bonnie was a very selfless person and was a strong advocate for organ donation. Her wishes to be a donor have been honored, and her family, as well as her, would encourage all who read this to sign up to be a donor.
Bonnie is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 61 years, Norris D. Lovett; four daughters, Lori Lovett, Karen Loupin and David, Julie Robshaw and Ralph, and Jana Pierce and Dennis; her cherished grandchildren, Derek, Cassandra, Serena, Nicholas, Samantha, Amanda, Andrew, Brittany, Brandi, Sierra, and 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Jean Coen and Mike; a sister in law Donna Coffin; a brother in law, Ansil Brown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will also be missed by treasured friends of the Coupon Gang and friends at the lake. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was predeceased by a sister M. Gail Larkin.
At Bonnie’s request, there will be no services. Interment will be at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
