Obituary for Betty J. Leach

Lincoln – Betty J. Leach, 84, died October 20, 2022, unexpectedly at Eastern Maine Medical Center. She was born August 31, 1938, in Webster Plantation, Maine, the daughter of Percy L. Smith and Lottie M. (Worster) Smith. Betty was the 12th of 15 siblings.
She married the love of her life, Leroy H. Leach, on December 25, 1954, in Lincoln, Maine. They lived in many different towns throughout Maine and enjoyed 67 wonderful years together.
Betty worked at Foster’s Mill in Mattawamkeag, Maine. She enjoyed country
music, both listening and playing, with her family, fishing with Leroy,
reading, knitting, and crocheting. Betty was special caregiver for her
family and a tiny baby boy who was very special to her heart and her
beloved Leroy. Betty is survived by her beloved husband, Leroy H. Leach
of Lincoln; sisters Flora Curtis of Lincoln; Christine Looney and her husband
Tom in California; Shirley Worster of Bangor; Barbara Fleming and her
partner Lindy of Medway; sisters-in-law Linda Smith of Gray; Carol Leach
and her husband Robert of Conway, South Carolina; Peggy Leach and her
husband Maurice; and many nieces and nephews. Betty is predeceased
by her parents, Percy and Lottie Smith; brothers; Percy Smith, Wallace Smith and his wife Eleanor; George Smith and his wife Mildred; sisters Glenace and her husband Elwood Worster, Louise Worster and her husband Vernon; Marion Gilmore and her husband Richard; Patsy Toby; brothers-in-law Kilby Fleming, Charles Worster, and Frederick Curtis, Sr., Sister-in-laws Ellie McCarthy and husband Wayne, Charlene Nelson and husband Cecile.
A graveside service with Pastor Steve Waite presiding, will be held for
family and close friends at the Kingman Cemetery, Saturday, October 29,
2022, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Betty be sent to the
MSG Gary Gordon Veteran Center, Lincoln, Maine or the American Heart
