Obituary for Bernice Eleanor Burleigh Seamans

Millinocket - Bernice Eleanor Burleigh-Seamans went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Born July 29, 1928, she was 92.
Bernice worked at the nursing home for many years, and there she was known as Bunny to her co workers, and to all of her friends, as well.
Grammy to all her grandchildren, she just loved children. When we were little she would take us sliding on the hill next to our house and later on take us boys hunting. As a grandmother she would get down on the floor and play with all the kids that came into her life. She loved everyone and befriended neighbors who might have needed a little help and loved their children as she did her grandchildren.
Ma as we called her was married at 16 and did the very best for us children and dad, by cooking, sewing, knitting and being there to help us when we needed it. While growing up ma and dad took us to church 3 times a week. A Christian up bringing for her family was very important to her.
A very special thanks to the Lincoln nursing home and to all the workers who took such good care of her. And to the Katahdin Nursing home where they took such good care of her in her final years and days. Ma knew a lot of the caregivers there because she either taught them to be loving, caring CNA’s or was taught by them. Once again a special thanks to all who took care of her.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Bexton Seamans, her son; Steven Seamans, son in law David Tibbitts, four brothers and six sisters and her companion for many years Babe Madore. Surviving are her daughters Sandra Tibbitts, Earlene Andrick and husband Paul, sons, Dennis Seamans and wife Susan, Roger Seamans and wife Donna, daughter in law Sue Seamans, nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
Due to her wishes and covid 19 a graveside service will be held 10 AM Saturday October 10 at the Millinocket Cemetery, attended by her immediate family. Please wear a mask. Also thankyou to Hospice. In lieu of flowers please donate to Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 341, Millinocket, ME 04462. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
