Obituary for Bernadette "Berni" Vars
Lincoln – Bernadette “Berni” Vars, 71, died unexpectedly December 22, 2021, in Magnolia, Texas. She was born October 29, 1950, in Lincoln, the daughter of Theresa M. (Brasslett) Tibbetts.
Berni was a graduate of Mattanawcook Academy, class of 1969. Berni, along with her husband Bob, resided in Montville, Connecticut, where they were active members of the Mohegan Fire Company, fire, police, and EMT. Here in Maine, she was an active member of the Penobscot Off Road Riders Club in Lincoln and served as one of their ATV Safety Instructors. Berni enjoyed ATV riding, cooking, travelling, and family.
Berni is survived by her husband of 43 years 8 months, Robert Vars of Lincoln; a sister, Shirley Jipson of Passadumkeag; a brother, Donald Tibbetts of Connecticut; and several siblings in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Berni was predeceased by her mother and a son, Roy Vars.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 PM Wednesday, May 18 at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Graveside services will be held 10 AM Thursday, May 19 at the Town Line Cemetery, Enfield, with Pastor Dale Chasse officiating.
