MILLINOCKET – Barbara Ames Nicholson, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, died at age 94 on December 23, 2018. Born September 25, 1924 in East Millinocket, she was the second eldest daughter of Ivan Cecil Ames and Frances Bartlett Ames. She will be greatly missed by daughter Gaile Ames Nicholson, son James Edward Nicholson, and daughter Jane Bartlett Arsenault (Paul), and grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan (Deanna) Arsenault, Cortney (John), Steven Nicholson and Anthony Dickinson, and great grandchildren Katherine “Kate” and Nicholas “Nick” Klemperer, and EmmaLyn and Parker Nicholson., her sister, Sarah Lombard, sister-in-law Jean Nicholson and many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors who enriched her life. Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the First Congregational Church in Millinocket. Friends and relatives are welcome to visit from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Following the service, the family welcomes friends in the church’s reception room for fellowship and refreshments.
