Obituary for Barbara Gertrude Burrill (Decker)

Dover-Foxcroft and Lincoln - Barbara Gertrude (Decker) Burrill, 92, of Dover-Foxcroft and Lincoln, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 27, 2023.
Barbara was born February 18, 1930, to Everett and Gertrude (Young) Decker. Barbara was predeceased by her parents; and husband of 45 years, Byron C. Burrill. Barbara is survived by all her children that she loved unconditionally, Edward, Rosanne and her husband, George, Bonnie and her husband, John, William and his wife, Joan, Jonathan and his wife, Marlene, Bernice and her husband, Alen, Barbara and her husband, Gerry, and Daniel and his wife, Tory; along with over a dozen grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren. Barbara will be especially missed by her long-time companion "Piccalilli" the cat.
Barbara loved life to its fullest and enjoyed every day with a smile and positive thoughts, always up before everyone else just to have a few minutes to herself to relax, reflect and plan out the day's events. From a very young age, Barbara was a caregiver for any family member in need from babysitting to long term care, always ready to give a helping hand up and encouragement to those in need.
Barbara will be remembered for all those beautiful quilts, wall hangings and large brimmed sun bonnets that she wore with pride, all of which she made with hundreds of hours of love. One of Barbara's greatest joys was when she gladly gave away her sewing artwork to all her family while beaming with pride. Some of Barbara's favorite memories were of teaching her children and grandchildren the art of sewing by working with them to create beautiful works of art to cover their beds at night. Barbara was also known for making beautiful handmade cards for birthdays and holidays that always had a wonderful handwritten note always starting with "How are you?"
At Barbara's request, there will be no funeral service at this time. There will be a graveside service in the spring in the Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Barbara would want us to live a life filled with her favorite phrase, Live Long, Laugh Often and Love Unconditionally.
Barbara has been placed in the care of Lamson Funeral Home in Lincoln, Maine.
