Lee – Audrey H. Downs, 78, died in her home surrounded by family after a brief illness on January 2, 2021.
Audrey lived a life of caretaking and giving. She volunteered at a soup kitchen cooking meals for those in need in Branford, Connecticut for many years before moving back to Maine. She was also the caretaker of the family, always there for whoever needed her any time day or night. She sat with anyone in need in their last hours and held their hand until the end.
Audrey is survived by her daughter Beverly and her husband Tony Mccloud of Lee, her grandson Tom and his wife Brandi Donahue of Howland, her great grandson Aaron Donahue of Howland, a brother Linwood White of Lincoln, several nieces and nephews and a very special friend Donna Sutherland of Burlington. She is predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Phillip, 7sisters- Velda, Harriet, Verna, Althea, Joyce, Phyllis, and Delores, 7 brothers- Horace, Cecil, Johnny, Omah, Peter, Herbert and Ronald and step grandson Aaron Mccloud.
There will be a graveside service in the spring for family and friends.
