Obituary for Arnold E. "Sonny" Tash Jr.

Chester – Arnold “Sonny” E. Tash Jr, 88, passed away September 4, 2023, in Lincoln. He was born January 4, 1935, in Milford, the son of Arnold Sr. and Dossie (Ireland) Tash.
As the oldest of 15 children, he was the patriarch of the Tash family. His family was his pride and joy.
Known for his hunting successes, he and Joan could also often be found hooking the biggest fish in West Grand and gracing the dance floor of Happy Acres. Sonny was an avid Red Sox Fan.
Sonny worked various jobs throughout the years, including in the woods, on the railroad and at numerous papermills. He settled into his career at Lincoln Paper and Tissue, from where he retired in 2000 after 31 dedicated years.
Sonny is survived by his daughter Lisa Kincaid and Stanley; a daughter-in-law, Pam Tash; a son-in-law, Arnold “Butch” Knights; 9 Siblings, Becky Theriault, Marilyn Reed, Marlene Daley, Arlette Richards, Rocky Tash, Emden Tash, Pearl Scavone, Charlie Tash, and Tommy Tash; 9 grandchildren, Shawn Lehman, Chris Tash, Seth Lehman, Arikka James, Lacey Schnepper, Trevor Tash, Wyatt Tash, Quade Lehman and Reese Bayler; 16 great-grandchildren and many friends, relatives and in-laws who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Sonny was predeceased by two children, Alan Tash and Wanda (Tash) Knights; and five younger brothers, Carter, Billy, Gene, Edwin “Squeak” and Jimmy Tash.
Friends and family may call from 6pm-8pm, Monday, September 11, 2023, at Lamson Funeral Home.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 3pm, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the South Chester Cemetery with the Rev. William Chesley officiating. A celebration of life will follow at the Marianne Municipal Building in Chester. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Lincoln.
