Obituary for Arnold Deschaine

Millinocket - Arnold Deschaine, 91, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at his residence. He was born May 4, 1929, in Fort Kent, the son of Philip and Unice (Jandreau) Deschaine.
Arnold grew up in Fort Kent and attended local schools. He went to work on the family farm and worked in a dry cleaning business at the same time. He married Stella Levesque on September 12, 1949 and together they would raise their six children. In 1956 Arnold and Stella relocated their family to Millinocket. He went to work at Great Northern Paper Company for thirty two years before retiring on January 1, 1987. In his spare time Arnold could be found in his vegetable garden of which he was very proud of. His favorite times were spent with his family whom he loved very much. Arnold's faith was very important to him and he was a longtime communicant of St. Martin Of Tours.
He is survived by his wife of seventy one years Stella Deschaine of Millinocket, six children: Dana Deschaine and his wife Nora of Princeton, Ervin Deschaine and his wife Sandra of Medway, Brenton Deschaine and his wife Karen of Millinocket, Beverly Pelkey and her husband Charlie of Woodville, Debra Lynch and her husband Paul of Winterport, Philip Deschaine and his wife Lori of Raymond, twenty one grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind three siblings: Mabeline Hebert of Southington, CT, Nora Bouchard of Kentucky, Altine Albert of Southington, CT, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by six siblings: Alphonse, Donald, Joyime, Sylvia, Jean, and Chester, and two grandchildren, Andrew and Justin.
