Obituary for Annette Mildred Saucier (St.Thomas)

Annette (St. Thomas) Saucier, 83, died Wednesday, Marcy 20, 2019 at a Bangor health care facility in a peaceful, loving surrounding. She was born July 28, 1935 in Howland, the daughter of Levi and Annie (Berby) St. Thomas.

Annette lived her entire life in Howland where she raised a family of four children and helped raise her niece, Claudette Carlow, who was the daughter of Annette’s sister, Mildred Carlow. Annette and her husband, Leo, purchased a restaurant and built what is now the 95 Market and Diner.

Annette spent many years managing and cooking at the diner and was known for her homemade meals and fresh baked pies. Graham Cracker Pie was one of her favorite pies to make. Annette was happiest spending time at the restaurant with her daughter, Terry Wallace, by her side and son Tommy working at the store next door. Sadly, Terry predeceased Annette in 2013. Spending time with family and cooking was Annette’s life. She and Leo spent many years together running the business, creating a gathering place for the community to spend time together while enjoying a home cooked meal.

After retiring, Annette enjoyed living next to her sister, Gilda. She loved her afternoon soap operas, and the company of her cat, Brady. As always, time spent with family and friends was her favorite.
Annette was a communicant of St. Leo Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Daughters of Isabella.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas Saucier and his wife Joanie, and Steven Saucier, and Greg Saucier; grandchildren, Danielle Boobar, Jennifer Osgood, Darin Wallace, Nathan Wallace, Dustin Saucier, and Christopher Saucier; nine great grandchildren; siblings Marlene Marquis and John Thomas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, Leo, and daughter, Terry, Annette was predeceased by a daughter in law, Barbara Fitzpatrick, and siblings Clovie St. Thomas, Gilbert St.Thomas, Otis St. Thomas, Mildred Carlow, Freda Lavertu McCloskey, and Gilda Poulin.

The family would like to thank Woodlands of Brewer, Northern Lights Hospice, and Westgate Manor for the wonderful care given to Annette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. Saturday, April 27 at St. Leo Catholic Church in Howland. Interment will be at St. Matthews Cemetery in West Enfield.
