Obituary for Alta T. Peters (Boyington)

Millinocket - Alta T. (Boyington) Peters passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, with family by her side. Alta was born November 1st, 1928, in
Millinocket to Clint & Vergie (Gaskin) Boyington. She loved the outdoors. Her
happiest times were spent with family and friends on Big Hurd fishing the early morning and
evening hours. Her greatest joy in recent years was her final trip to Hurd with her Great
Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years
Goodsill “Pete” Peters and Daughter Virgie Peters, also 4 siblings: Ralph Boyington, infant
Robert Boyington, Gertrude Healey, and Eleanor Dunnell. She is survived by Daughter
Roxanne Lent and her husband John Lent Jr.; granddaughters and their husbands Mary and Brad
Hill & Toni and Brandon Barnett; great grandchildren Johnathan, Emery, Lucinda Hill and
Baby Barnett, due in June; a sister Lorraine Boyington and brother William “Bill”
Boyington; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved immensely. A special thank
you to Betsy Freeman, Philip Healy and Donny Boyington who helped her maintain her
independence for several years. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Dr. Hassan
Abouleish and staff of Madigan Healthcare for their love and care over the last 2 ½ years. At
Alta’s request there will be no services at this time with an interment in the spring at Millinocket
cemetery date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
