Obituary for Allura L. Campbell (Hayman)

Brookton – Allura L. Campbell, 91, earned her angel wings on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at a Houlton health care facility. She was born June 2, 1927 in Forest Station, the daughter of Seth and Allura "Lou" (Lyons) Hayman.
Sweetie married Cecil Campbell in 1945, and together they shared 54 years until his passing in 1999. She was a devoted Christian, and was a member for over 70 years of the Brookton Pentecostal Church. Sweetie’s life revolved around raising her children which she took such pride in. She loved knitting and crocheting, and gave much of her work to family and friends. In her younger years, she picked potatoes in Mars Hill, and for many years she worked as a CNA in area nursing homes. Sweetie always worked hard, cooking and took pride in keeping her house clean, neat, and organized. She was also determined to do what she set out to do, and was proud to have earned her high school diploma from Lee Academy in 1987 at the age of 60. Sweetie will be remembered as a fun person to be around. She always enjoyed going out to lunch, shopping, and spending time with family.
Sweetie is survived by six children, Warren Campbell and his wife Barbara of Brookton, Diane Carpenter of Waynesville, North Carolina, Daniel Campbell and his wife Chandra of Danforth, Gordon Campbell and his wife Connie of Brookton, Cecile Campbell of Fairfield and her friend Daniel McCormack of Alton, and Joel Campbell and his wife Dawn of Brookton; a brother, John Hayman of Danforth; three sisters in law, Alberta Hayman of Brookton, Faye Hayman of Missouri, and Joanne Kitchen of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Sweetie was predeceased by a grandson, Aaron Carpenter, a great grandson Jacob Stewart, siblings, Harold Hayman, Albion Hayman, and Keith Hayman, and Lavanche Mailman.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 P.M. Friday, December 7 at the Brookton Pentecostal Church, 575 U.S. Highway 1, Brookton, where funeral services will be held 11 A.M.
