Obituary for Adrian L. Drost

Prentiss Township – Adrian L. Drost, 60, passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 14,
2023, surrounded by his family and friends after a hard fought battle with appendix cancer. He
was born November 9, 1962 in Lincoln to Sarah (Ketch) and George Drost.
Adrian was known near and far for his excellence as a diesel mechanic, his “favorite” being a
Caterpillar. He was self employed and was so proud of the business he built from the ground up,
“Prentiss Truck Repair”. He loved bluegrass music and even cut a CD with his son. Adrian loved
spending time with his grandchildren and watching them learn all the life skills he could teach
them. Over the years Adrian made some incredible friends who he loved dearly, even if it didn’t
sound that way when they got together! He loved to tease them, and they loved to “give it right
back.”
Adrian was predeceased by his mother in 2015 but was so fortunate to still have his Dad by his
side. In addition to his loving wife Kelley (Lee) Drost, he is survived by his five children Adrian
and Amanda Drost, Ashley and Jim Zugelder, Aimee Drost and Ryan, Alyssa and Aaron King,
and Tinesha and Bryan Fleming; fifteen grandchildren Cameron, Jayden, Aiden, Karagan, Caitlyn,
Liam, Bryson, Jase, Jamison, Kenlee, Aurora, Kason, Brody, Beckett, and soon to be Baby Adrian;
siblings Russell and Melanie, George and Gretchen, Keith and Anna, and Vesta and Doug; his
three very best friends Alton Yates and Liz, Brent Averill, and Jeannie and Josh Averill and
Ashlee; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 & 6-8 PM Saturday, February 18 at the Lamson
Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 PM
Sunday, February 19. Spring interment will be at the West Enfield Cemetery. Messages of
condolence may be expressed at Adrian’s Book of Memories at www.lamsonfh.com.
